Started in 2016, ACT Alliance (Action to Counter Illegat Trade) is a project of the Center for Social Education and Development (CSED), Islamabad.
It is a coalition of civil society organizations working to address tax evasion, smuggling, counterfeiting, and illegal trading that drain billions from Pakistan’s economy each year. By at least halving these economic losses, the alliance aims to protect public revenues and support national development and social uplift.
To achieve this, ACT Alliance follows a multi-faceted strategy built on advocacy, public education, and partnerships with media, corporate bodies, government institutions, and political leaders. It promotes stronger regulatory frameworks, supports research, and runs communication campaigns focused on its four core issues. Through these efforts, the alliance works to strengthen economic integrity, encourage legal business practices, and contribute to a fairer and more progressive economic environment in Pakistan.
ACT Alliance also provides services on issues related to Pakistan’s economy, with a particular focus on action against all forms of the illegal economy. Its work includes Social Media Support, Media Relations Management, Corporate Assistance, Government Relations, Research Assistance, and Advocacy Support.
